ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Smoke coming from cat?

Hey guys back again, yea lately I've been having a real crap shoot with my cb. but time to fix this problem. OK, the problem is when the car gets warmed up and gets hotter from being driven around, it starts to smoke. It looks like it came from the Catalytic converter when i looked under the car. My question is where could the oil be coming from? I don't have an oil cooler ( guessing that's an auto thing ) to change the gasket on. no visible leaks from between the head and block. there's little on the under side of the intake runners but I'm guessing that's from the valve cover gasket, but that wouldn't cause that much of an oil leak. the oil sending unit has oil on it, but not positive it would cause it to smoke enough to see rolling from under the car from inside. i know the rear main seal leaks quite a bit, could it be from there, from when the car is in motion and happens to land on the cat? Overall what are other places to look for oil leaks on the back side? any info would help thanks in advance.

yeah its probably your rear main. I replaced my oil pan gasket thinking it was that causing all the smoke but its still leaking. Mine has oil between the tranny and the engine block, its collecting all over the lower trans cover and then with the wind from driving the car, it gets slung all down the underside of the car, including collecting on the Cat. converter heatshield.

Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't do it. A rear main is a big PITA seal to replace though. I would only replace it if its causing a severe oil leak. Or if you have tons of spare time on your hand.

Alright, well its getting a new clutch anyways since the one now cant hold anything when i climb into boost, all it does is spin, so when i replace the clutch ill replace the rear main, kill 2 birds with one stone. reminds me oil pan gasket needs replaced too. I guess while im under there i could just replace everything i mentioned to see if oil stops leaking. straying away quickly could the smoke from the cat be entering the cabin? it happened a few times after i reach boost and let off it slowly comes in. not for sure where thats from.
