ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

wiring harness, ecu, timing, what could be wrong

So my car has been in the shop for 2 weeks now and they cannot figure out what is wrong with it. About a month ago the car started sputtering and then eventually died.(yes i had gas). Got it to start and drove it home and it sat there for about 2 weeks while I tried to figure it out. Changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and the main relay. It would start every once in a while then die. So i had it towed to a family friend that has worked on hondas for a long time. He changed the ignition coil and gave it back to me cause it was running. Two days later it died and i had to have it towed again. Now its been in there for two more weeks and things are getting worse. He showed me that when he turned the distrubutor back it would start but run for shit, and while the car was on he moved it back to where its supposed to be and it ran great. So we were thinking timing has to be it. Sure enough the timing belt had jumped a tooth or two because something was leaking oil. Fixed the oil leak and put a new timing belt on. Still the same problem. So he took the ecu out an tore it apart and it was fine. So next he checked the ignition and it all checked out fine. Im pretty sure its not the fuel pump because we can hear it kicking on. We are completely stumped by what it could be. Please help.

You say the old timing belt jumped some teeth? How many teeth? I will assume you corrected the timing with the new belt. If the old belt jumped too many teeth it might have damaged internal components. One or more valves might have just barely made contact with the pistons. Enough to kill the car but not completely explode the engine. If you havent take the head off and check. Anytime a belt snaps or jumps teeth you need to check the internals.
