ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

They're $40-ish at RockAuto.com. Just get a new one. Your "new" engine most likely will not come with one, and if it does, it probably won't be any good.

Not even that any more. A Denso one I just checked with 1st class shipping is $32.

They are like $10 at your local pull-a-part sure there's a chance it won't work but you can take it back and get another one

Until he clogs his catalytic converter and has to replace that as well... and they're not $32.

As cb7rush said, you'll need an o2 sensor for the new engine... so get it now. Just be sure to get one that will be compatible with the new engine, as splicing o2 sensor wires doesn't always yield the best results (it can alter the resistance, causing inaccurate readings.)

Even if you find one that works, how long does that one lasts? For $22 more, it saves you the hassle of changing it again or at least you know it's new and not worry about it any more.
I saw the diagram with the o-ring before putting the O2 sensor on that must be changed. When you get the new one, does it come with that already? Or is that a washer and it's included with a new one?

                Thanks.

if you really want to "clean" the o2 sensor try this.

1: remove the sensor. dont just remove the sensor. heat up around the thread area with a torch. if you dont have a torch then drive around for 20 minutes or so. get the exhaust noce and hot. shut off car and immediately go to sensor with socket and remove.

2: take sensor and spray area below threads (thats inside exhaust pipe) with carb cleaner. soak it wet with the stuff. now take the torch and apply flame to area that you just sprayed. will drip flames and posibly flare up. keep the flame on it til there is no more residue on the sensor area.

3: now spray same area as before with brake cleaner. apply flame again. again watch out for dripping flames and flare ups.

                  4: repeat step 2

                  5: repeat step 3

6: apply flame again until sensor area is red. allow to cool by air or just blow out with compressed air from air gun

7: apply anti-sieze compound to thread area on sensor and reinstall into exhaust. connect wire and drive happily until you can get a new sensor
