ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Ceramic coated header will cost more. If you just want a cheap one than goahead and take your pick on any Stainless steel one on ebay.

All those cheap crap headers will do the same thing. The ceramic coating may keep heat in a bit better, but don't expect it to be a very high quality coating on those cheapos.
They also won't give you more than a few horsepower. If you don't need a replacement exhaust manifold, and you don't have a burning desire to have something pretty (but clearly cheap) under your hood... don't waste your money.

There is only one header that really makes power for the F22A, and that's the one from Bisimoto. Everything else will get you 3-5hp... maybe a little more with the better ones, like DC Sports... but still not worth their price, IMO. Other than the Bisimoto header, all headers on the market for the F22A are a very generic design. Basically, they just take the stock manifold design, make it tubular, and widen the pipes a bit. In theory, yes, it increases flow... but not so much as to add a whole lot of performance. There are better things to spend your money on if your stock manifold is in good shape.

How bout you tell us how much your "budget" is and we'll tell you; per our own personal opinions and insight, what you should or shouldn't purchase.

Better yet... learn what different parts do, and what they do for the CB7 specifcially. Find out which parts will give the best gains with your goals, and which parts are within your budget and ability to install properly.

Ignorant kids on the internet can throw part names and brand names at you until your head explodes. If you don't understand what's worth your time and money and what isn't... you gain nothing at all from that input.

                        Intake, header (oh, wait), exhaust.

At least he didn't say headerS.

                          Very true.

A header IS a good upgrade... but not all headers are created equal. When it comes to the generic designs, they're pretty much all the same. The more expensive generic designs are just built better... but rarely offer worthwhile gains.

ESP had mentioned producing a header. I think I may get in touch with them to negotiate that. Their H22 design makes less than Bisimoto's header, but it also costs less than half as much. An F22A design from them would probably be about the same.
Right now, our header options are mainly crap, crap, crap, more expensve crap with a CARB number, crap, more crap, and Bisimoto. Bisimoto is FANTASTIC, but it costs more than many of us paid for our entire car. It's well worth the price, but out of reach for many tuners that aren't all that serious. It'd be great to have something in between.
