ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Rough Idle issue?

    Rough Idle issue?

My car was running fine today, then all of a sudden when I came to a stoplight it idled like shit. Sounded like it was missing.

I pulled over to see that my cheapo short ram intake had came apart and the motor was drawing in raw unfiltered air. I got it home and reassembled it.

But for some reason, it still runs like Crap. I check tightened the idle screw and that fixed it (sorta) until I closed the hood and it started running shitty and then started reving between 1k and 2.5k back and forth.

I checked spark plugs and the #3 cylinder spark plug boot was loose and wouldnt seat on the spark plug well. I took pliers and squeezed the metal piece inside the plug boot, it seated a little better. When the car was running I noticed a pulse when I put my finger on top of the boot.

Any idea what wrong here? What can I still check? It runs fine at speed, crappy at idle.

BTW I have a 91 ex with a f22a1 and an auto tranny.

I recommend start by checking to see if each cylinder is firing properly.A easy way to do this is put on a glove and start the car. While the car is idling, Grab each spark plug boot one at time and slip off and put back on one at a time. As you slip each one off, the motor should miss more. If it does not miss more, that is at least telling you which cylinder is causing the problem. Hope this helps. Good luck.

The idling up and down sounds like the IACV.The miss could be manythings plugs, wires, injector, problem in distributor, compression loss etc etc and so forth.First off do you have any cels on(check engine light)?

I will try this today. I have a feeling its that plug I talked about earlier. I think I have lifetime warranty on the plug wires. So ill go get another set.
