ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Idle Valve

So Im having problems with my car I thought it was the idle valve so i purchased one from ebay and replaced it myself but it made no difference my rpm meter keeps reving up and down makes that annoying sound and some people told me it might be the o2 sensor, or the map sensor any suggestions i have an f22b1 swap. thanks

There are many reasons that this happens.

        1. Balance shafts are not properly timed
        2. Fast idle valve is backed out to far and allowing to much air in or not enough
        3. Idle air control valve is not working properly
        4. Vacuum leak on intake
        5. Throttle is not adjusted properly and allowing or not allowing enough air in the throttle body
        6. O2 Sensor will cause this problem also causes surging when idling or driving
        7. Maybe something else....

What all have you checked so far? Usually everyone says it is the idle air control valve which in most cases I have found it is not.

        Let me know

Also in case you all are wondering why the idle is fixed by putting more coolant in it is because your fast idle valve is thermally controlled. It has a coolant line that goes to the bottom of it and when the car reaches operating temperature it moves the valve. Low coolant will not allow this valve to move thus idle is all over the map.

Where the intake goes into the throttle my car has an f22b1 swap I bought the car like that but when they did the swap they left the same throttle body and map sensor it worked at first but with in time it messes up so I got everything original for the engine.
