ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New tires for my 18's

    Hey all,
just wanted some input on tire sizes. I have some 18x7.5 drags with bald 215/40/18 tires... That tire size seems to be not so common as 225/40/18 which i can get a deal on being that its a common size. Any one here run the 225's and any thoughts on them vs the 215's. Thanks going tire shopping today in a few hrs.

the 225 will be a little taller and wider . they should work , just fine .take a peek at the tire store with a 215 and a 225 . you will see what i mean.good luck .

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

Well not "trying" to go bigger... I just wouldnt want a bumpier ride than what I curently have..215-40-18 hankook ventus. 35 series can be found everywhere at good prices also. just everywhere tells me 215-40-18 is kinda odd size. I just looked at 225-40's and they seemed about 9" wide... to much for a 7.5 rim ..imo...

Yeah, 40 is a little tall for those wheels... sort of like 45s on 17s (which I prefer for comfort and wheel protection...)

I would say stay away from the 225 width, especially if you're low. You might run into clearance issues (without knowing the offset of your wheels, I can't say for sure either way.) 215/40/18 will be a little beefy, and will offer more comfort and protection than 215/35/18.
