ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    SOHC power?

Hey, Im new on here and recently got a 92 accord EX coupe, for a new project, and right now im looking for a fairly cheap way to get a good power boost out of the car. its got a rebuilt F22a non VTEC and 5 speed transmission. right now all i have on it is a cold air intake. any ideas would be appreciated! thank you!

basic mods are intake, headers, exhaust. other then thats its all internals and/or boost. which i would do the internals first so you know whats done to the motor.

      Welcome to the family.

Well a lot of the other guys are going to tell you to swap engines instead if you're looking for power but that would be a waste of a rebuilt engine.

I would recommend a upgrade in the cam, a H23 intake manifold, porting and polishing the exhaust ports. It'll cost a decent penny but if you look around you could probably find someone who is selling off a cam or intake manifold to make money for something else in their build.

The F22A has amazing potential. Look into posts by Bisimoto on this site, and visit Bisimoto.com for some of the best F22A performance parts made.

You don't have to say "non-VTEC"... all F22A engines are non-VTEC.

It's all depending on your budget. There are tons of posts about making power with little money and making hella power with a lot of money. Get to know the search bar really well. There's tons of good info all over this forum.
          Life's a garden. Dig it.

Cheaper still, you could leave the stock pistons and install H22 rods, and deck the block just slightly. 10:1 compression for dirt cheap.
There are no black and white suspension answers!!!!!!!!!!!

Newly rebuilt motor... why tear it down again?

Honestly, the fastest and cheapest way to make power (until it blows up) would be turbo. It can be done cheaply. You'll spend far more time learning to do it correctly than you will money.

Id would be recommended to go get a tune after doing that right?
