ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F20A vs F22A

    Hey guys I just got done searching for my H22 and while doing so , I noticed a lot of companies had a F20A engine for sale under 90-93 Accords . I've had three CBs and they all had the F22A1-4 . I was just wondering what the difference was between the two ...

    f20a = 2.0 liter

    f22a = 2.2 liter

    I'm pretty sure some of the f20a's are carbureted too

    the f20a did not come in any north american cb7's

      Depends on what version you are looking for. There is the JDM F20A SOHC and also the JDM F20A DOHC. Both are 2.0 liter rather than 2.2 like F22aX motors.

      Benefits would be a slightly higher redline...(JDM 2.0 tachs reflect this but in reality its not a drastic increase to satisfy a B-series lover)

      My buddy HyphyAccord had a sohc F20A in his cb7. Visually it looks like a F22a1-a4 without the butterfly manifold. The power however on my butt dyno felt faster than my old a6 in acceleration, but then again the engine more likely had less miles and was in a better health condition. I'm too lazy to search but I believe the DOHC version was rated at 145-150HP so it's almost like a destroked H23.

      In my opinion if you want to go the jdm F-series route, you could invest in a JDM DOHC F22B. If you shop around, those can be had around the same price and if not cheaper than a beatup H23 motor.

        Yeah I must agree with Warudakumi, F22B DOHC is a great motor for what your paying for. Plus it runs on 87 and has some goodies. But if your ever thinking of boost stay F22A. The H22A has the most aftermarket support out of all of these choices, but it's up to you.

        Not to confused you more but there is also a F20B DOHC VTEC which comes from a Euro Accord SiR-T, but that's hard to get parts for. It looks similar to a H22A. Power output is about the same, with slightly less torque. This will rev higher than the H if your into it.

          The SOHC F20A is weak... it's inferior to the F22A.

          The DOHC F20A makes 150hp, and is a decent engine. Still, it's only 10hp over an F22A6, and not that significant of an upgrade.

          Are they good? Sure. About as good as the F22A. If your F22A is heathy, there's no need to swap in an F20A, unless you have a specific reason to do so.

              Go overseas, and you'll see them everywhere. You'll even see a few F18As.
