My wiring seems very rigid and junky. There is so much electrical tape it makes me want to rip all the wires out and burn them. So, I could go the route of a new or used in decent shape stock harness, however I've been thinking about it and I kinda like the thought of having it less clunky and lighter with custom wiring. I'm pretty sure I could figure this out through schematics and such as I've had electronics training from the Navy, however I thought I might ask here to see if anyone has or knows someone who has rewired their CB completely.
I'm looking to find out how many circuits I would need to keep it simple as possible. Keep in mind I'm pulling the a/c so I have no need for that. All I need is the engine, dizzy, ecu, sensors, dash, audio, cig lighter, head/tail/fog lights(minus center brake light), heater/blower, then power windows/locks. I have plenty of splicing/soldering experience and I'm sure I could probably figure it out on my own just by getting schematics and finding out what each wire requires. The only issue I'm thinking I might run into would be the ecu, however I'm sure I could overcome that too with a good study of the inputs/outputs.
I just wondered if anyone had any advice on this to make it easier/quicker for me if I decide to go through with it. It may not be much weight, but it wouldn't hurt to lose it, and it wouldn't hurt to simplify the wiring and make electrical issues easier to troubleshoot. At least for me since I wired it.
