ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    HID lights??

k because my other thread got deleted heres another one.

im getting projectors because i like the look of em and because i like to be different.

so why do i need a ballast conversion kit? is it because of the higher wattage/amps used or higher heat that comes from the HID bulbs compared to Halogen?

Projectors are smart. Otherwise, you're throwing light everywhere, and blinding people. I get dipshits in Civics blinding me on a daily basis. I have Audi projectors in my CB.

You need an auxiliary wiring harness to run to the battery so the HIDs aren't drawing all their power through the stock wiring. They take less power when warmed up, but nearly double while they're warming up. This can damage your stock wiring. A fairly inexpensive conversion harness is MUCH cheaper and easier than replacing your car's entire wiring harness! www.3bspecialties.com has decent quality harnesses for $15 USD. I don't know if they'd ship to New Zealand, but I don't see why not.

I had a set of projectors on my CB when i first bought it. They take a H3 low beam, and a H1 high beam. you can use normal 55 watt bulbs or some "blue" upgrade bulbs and they plug into your stock headlight plug with a simple adapter to avoid HID cost. But, HID's would be ideal.

ah it depends on the type of projector. aftermarket housing projector from ebay is usually trash for output.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

nah im getting some nice projectors from Andy'sautos "ANZO" is the brand which cost me $258 USD.

but i do want to go HID to complete the package if you know what i mean so what do i exactly need for the set up?

cost doesnt mean much to me as long as i get it right the first time

Trust me, you don't want those headlights. The output on those is garbage. Either get these, or retrofit some morimoto mini projectors in your stock housings. Even though the listing says so, they are not "JDM" lights. From what I have heard, the output is ok with those.

You would probably want an HID conversion kit to complete it.

Just go for a cheap 6000K 9006 HID conversion kit on ebay. It will come with everything you need.

Yeah, I just meant projector vs. stock housing... though yes, a crap projector won't be useful. Which brings me to the next comment...

                1) Andys is TERRIBLE. Stay away.
                2) If those are what I'm thinking they are... the output is going to be terrible. Those projectors are made for use with halogen lights (and they're terrible for that, too!)

My advice, which is much like the advice given above... Get yourself some good projectors. Personally, I'd just get projectors that come from another vehicle that's already equipped with HIDs, such as various Audis, the S2000, or the USDM TSX (the Accord is most other parts of the world, but I don't know if the non-US Accord got the same headlights...) Take those projectors and put them into your stock headlight housings, or get some JDM 1 piece headlights and put them in there if you prefer that look.
