ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Automatic seat belt stopped working...

The seatbelt attachment that goes back and forth on the window frame stopped working..Is it a fuse ? The motor ? If it is a fuse, where is it located ? Thanks...

Honestly I would just take it to the dealership, since it has a lifetime warranty. Unless you just really want to learn how to fix it yourself.

fuse should be under the hood.

        what year is your car?
if i knew that, i could find you a good diagram showing the placement of the fuse.

its labeled "passive motor" on the fuse box cover, and is a 30amp. Under the hood just above right wheel.

Wrong, lifetime warranty only applies to the belts, retractors and buckles. Motorized portions of the seat belts are not covered.

Also pull the "Radio" and "ECU" fuses and both "Passive Motor" fuses.

These fuses supply pwr to different parts of the seat belt system and some times will reset the system to a normal state, working correctly.

If this works for you, your welcome. If not, well you just wasted a minute of your life trying to fix something.

Also check door striker for grooves from door latch. Even a slight grove can cause the auto-seatbelts to malfunction. If you have this grove then it is recommended to flip the striker over and re-tighten. You will have to put a hand on the backing plate inside door pillar before you remove both screws... You may also try loosening the striker and moving it upward toward the top of the car and re-tighten.

When performing this step I turn the key to run, and open and close the door from out side the car to watch and check the door alignment to the body. Re-adjust the striker as needed.

There are alignment dots on the frame (door jam) to help line it up.

I also pull all the fuses related to the system to clear errors in the ECU and Seatbelt Management Computer (both 30amp Passive Motor, 7.5amp Radio, 10amp ECU fuses) before re-aligning door striker.

Test the Door Latch switch (with the door open) by turning key to run, place a coin (or something) in the door light switch (Black "L") located under door striker. Facing the edge of the affected door use a screwdriver to rotate the black wheel to face upward (top of door) then use something 3/16" or less and move the micro-switch located in-between the slots of the back latch wheel (now facing upward) If the switch is good the auto-seatbelts will run back and forth as you press and hold the micro-switch.
