ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Yes, you must have the o2 sensor hooked up. I bought a 4-2-1 Megan header and it had an o2 bung right up front on the header. Possibly a pic of the one you are looking at ?

well if you didn't use an o2 sensor on the header itself it will be little louder than normal. And check engine light will be on also as mention..

Lol I hope so, all 9091s I've seen were on top of the manifold, and 9293s were on the downpipe.

the a1 has it up top. the a6 has it down low. the a4 might have it down low, i cant remember.

you need the o2 sensor. it is one of the most important sensors in the car. without it, the ecu has no idea how much fuel to provide.

Actually the ECU uses the CKP, TDC, CYP, IAT, ECT, MAP, TPS, VSS & O2 to calculate how much fuel and timing to use. The car will run without an O2 sensor, just not as well as it should.... So yea I guess installing your O2 would help!

i was trying to keep it simple, while giving some of the 'why' before that question was asked.

While I can't comment on the location (or lack of ) on the header you're looking at, if any pipe comes without one, or one in the wrong location, you or any exhaust shop can weld a bung wherever it's needed. Cheap and easy.

                        90-93 ex has lower o2 sensor (f22a4/6)

90-93 dx, lx has upper o2 sensor (f22a1)

there is no difference in the sensor other than the length of wire

if the header has a o2 bung on the downpipe and you have an a1 just extend the wires to reach the new sensor bung...simple fix

The O2 sensor sends a signal ranging from nearly zero to just below 1 volt, best be sure one knows how to maintain the correct resistance in the wiring, or kiss the reliability of the correct signal ever reaching the ecu goodbye.
Unless one knows what they are doing, cutting/splicing/hacking the sensor's wires should be a last resort short of ditching the sensor all together.

well i extended the o2 wires when i swapped my a6 header, using solder and heat shrink over a year ago and still no cel or drop in performance or mpg...every car is different though
