ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    cruise control and rear defrosters

here's my deal on my cruise control. The cruise control button will light up when I push it and the dash light comes on when I press the button on the steering wheel but it will not actually engage. The lights stay on so it looks like its working but the speed won't hold it'll just decelerate to a stop.

Problem #2 The rear defrosters.... well All the fuses are fine and I already swapped and checked the actual switch and it's not bad it should work but... it doesn't!! The light wont turn on and the defrosters won't defrost. Also checked the defroster lines they seem fine.

Also when i turn the air on it won't come on for a while it just stays off and then after a while it'll decide to finally kick in WTF???

Any ideas on any of these problems?

for the cruise control, check the vacuum hoses going to the cruise control assembly. if there is a hose disconnected or deteriorated your cruise control wont get the pressure needed to pull on the pedal.

Thank you sir. I will check that

Any other input??? I wouldn't bother posting this up but my mechanic cant get to it till next week so I want to resolve as many issues as possible before he takes a look at it. I will also save me some money by doing so.

He's going to look in to why my temp gauge doesn't work and why my ABS light is on as well as some odd noises it's making.

      Any help would be appreciated

The defroster not working may be the relay. I think it is in the fusebox under the dash, not sure which one it is though.

The ABS light will most likely be a wheel sensor. They are expensive-ish to replace, and the light can only show a single code at once, so you may end up having to replace more than one sensor or other ABS part. The light can be shut off by unpluging the ABS computer in the trunk. You wont have ABS though so expect the wheels to lock up under hard braking.

For the cruise control, make sure the cruise control module or whatever it's called under the hood is plugged in

Make sure the cc cable is actually attatched to the pedal. If you have a vacuum pump try pulling vacuum manually to see if it's pulling the cable.

There's a cable that goes to the pedal? I will check that too.

Its the one that comes out of the "UFO" and goes to the firewall.

Sorry to jack this, but what exactly does the cruise control unit look like? Pics would be nice.

Cruise control looks like a UFO, as previously stated. It's the only other thing that has a throttle cable, besides the actual throttle cable, and the kickdown cable. ( auto) if you follow your throttle cable into the firewall, the cruise cable goes in next to it, follow that back to the p/s resivour area and bam!!! There's your cruise control. If you need a pic, or further explanation, just unbolt some random part on your car, and smack yourself with it.

I know what the fuck the "UFO" is and it seems fine just a little beat up. What I haven't seen is where it connects to the pedal or the throttle body for that matter. I only see one cable to the throttle body and the other one goes from the"UFO" to the firewall.

I will check later to see where it attaches to the pedal. Maybe that will fix things.

and thank you for the input guys.
