ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    VTEC or non-Vtec?

Sorry for the thread repost, my last one got deleted.

My engine says f22a6 on the side, and the valve cover just says 16 valve Honda on top of it. I was just wondering cause sometimes when I get close to redline, it kind of sounds like VTAC just kicked in yo lol.

I can't get any pictures of my engine because i have only a broken cell camera. But my engine looks like this...

You are probably hearing the Intake Air Bypass (IAB) valves opening in your intake manifold. They open at higher RPM to allow more airflow into your engine.

The F22aX engines never had VTEC, excluding custom builds. Also, every VTEC equipped engine will display the VTEC logo somewhere on the valve cover.

Im pretty sure it's not, because my F22a6 is not Vtec.

Have you ever heard VTEC in the first place? Not even close in my opinion. No young fella, you do not have VTEC. But what you do have going for you is that if you are satisfied with this sound you don't have to spend money in a VTEC swap you can just get straight into your turbo or n/a build.

Your other thread was not deleted, it was locked. Because your question was answered.

NO 4th generation Accord EVER came with VTEC. NO F22A engine ever came with VTEC.
As said, what you are hearing is the IAB system. Additional runners in your intake manifold opening up to provide more airflow.

I am locking this thread. Again. Because your question has been answered, and this is already going in the same direction as the other one you made.

And yes, we know what an F22A looks like. Every one of our cars (at least in North America) came with identical engines.
