ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Reverse light trouble

I'm having a problem with finding out why my reverse lights won't come on. I've changed the bulbs and the fuse but still nothing. All of the other lights on my car work though. Also i noticed my maintenance required light is a dim green like if its not working. Does it suppose to be like that? Can anyone help?

The maintenance required indicator isn't a light. Merely a colored square that changes from green, to orange, to red over 7500 miles (which is Honda's suggested maintenance interval for these cars back when they were new.) It's a counter. Nothing more.

As for the reverse lights, check the reverse sensor in the transmission. When that goes bad, the reverse lights don't come on. Easy fix.

Also, much better with the descriptive title.

Open your hood and look at your tranny underneath you distibutor area. You should see a post like object sticking out with two wires running out.The wires will be green/black the other yellow.Check to see if the wires have broken or come loose or you may just have to replace the whole part. You can snag one at your local junkyard.Sorry i dont have pics to help more.

This is a picture I have from my clutch job --
It might be hard to see, but this is my manual trans. (painted black).

Normally there would be a distributor around here (inlet plugged here by a paper towel), lower radiator hose going back to the thermostat housing, and an air box/intake pipe above the trans. In the red is the sensor. It is threaded in directly from the top. Just grab an adjustable wrench or large pliers.

There is also a rubber boot on the sensor. Chances are pretty good that your rubber boot will have gotten brittle and started to crack. I simple re-wrapped it really well with electric tape all the way around the wires. Good luck

If you have an automatic, the sensor/switch is attached to the shifter inside the car.
