ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    o2 sensor question

I have a 93 ex that i broke camshaft in an since it was a daily i had to fix quickly. I ended up putting a F22A1 in it that ran very good an had just over a 100 thou on it. I swapped the manifolds off my A6 so i didn't have to deal with down pipe swap. Anyway in my rush to fix the car i broke my o2 sensor under the motor an was wondering as funds are short at this time will the sensor on the header from the A1 motor work as a replacement or are they different. Thanks for any help as i know this may be a stupid question.

It will work. You may have to swap the plugs though, they might be different.

The sensor is the same, but the wiring is different (and possibly the plug, as said.)

If you have to splice anything, splice the wire on the sensor, NOT the wire on the car. Chances are, a splice will alter the resistance, so it may not work perfectly... but it's better than nothing. Get a proper replacement sensor for the F22A6 ASAP... Denso or NTK only. Don't use Bosch. They don't work properly. Rockauto.com has Denso sensors for a very cheap price, and there's a discount code for CB7tuner members found in the Beginner Off Topic section (only 5%, but hey... better than nothing!)

thanks for the input. I will be ordering this part in a week or so but for now i will try your suggestions. The wife went a little crazy for christmas an we was not exspecting this car problem. I have another honda but i have that tore down as its a project car. Quick question my cam shaft broke due to a clogged oil port on th number one journal. Is this common as i changed the oil every three thousand miles. Anyway thanks for the help an i love this site. Its the most informative site that i been on.

No, that's not a common thing to happen at all.
Keep in mind.. YOU may have maintained it properly, but unless you know the car's full history, it could have had a lifetime's worth of abuse already.

hahaha this is true. I have owned the car for 10 years but my buddy i bought it off of isn't known for maintaining his vehicles as he gets a new one every couple of years. Guess i shouldn't to sad its the first major thing i've done to it since i owned it besides normal wear items i.e. brakes timing belt ect. Its been a great car. Thats why i bought another one just like it.Got a smokin deal on it too. 250.00 an it was in better shape than mine. Just needs a fuel pump but it cranks an runs otherwise lol.
