ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

lowering problem ?

If the camber is set to 0 degrees, then your upper control arms are hitting. They always do, unless you're BARELY dropped. I wouldn't cut your wheel well unless you want to weaken a critical area of your chassis. You can bang it out a bit, or you can run -1 degree of camber. Unless you're completely slammed, that should fix that problem.
If you removed your bumpstops, your shocks are bottoming out. Lowering on stock shocks, especially 20 year old shocks, is extremely dangerous. Not a smart thing to do at all. You should replace those right away. Get a set of stock bumpstops, and cut them in half. You need SOME bumpstop in place.
Oh, and if your camber kit is a $30 ebay special, I suggest replacing that with SPC or Ingalls as well... if that kit breaks on you, you will crash. I know this firsthand.

Expect to pay about $65 each for them. www.neuspeed.com has some of the best prices I've seen.
I woudln't trust anything cheaper. Blown shocks, or shocks that aren't properly matched to your springs, can result in unpredictable handling and braking. Blown shocks drastically increase the risk of crashing.

i have quite a problem then haha. im slammed on no bumpstops. heres a question, do they make aftermarket bumpstops for lowered cars or is it better to just cut the bumpstops?
i also run the camber that i lowered from stock. it looks like VW camber.Originally posted by rickyduckworththat's pretty interesting. when i get that bored i just watch porn and go to sleep

"VW camber"? No, it's just the trend among idiot VW drivers to have slammed cars with crazy negative camber. It will destroy your tires, obviously.Originally posted by rickyduckworththat's pretty interesting. when i get that bored i just watch porn and go to sleep

Any time you mess with your suspension, you risk throwing the alignment off. Even if you're doing a simple bushing replacement. HOWEVER, putting off the alignment because you have more things to do will only cost you more money in tires by driving around with bad camber (and possibly bad toe.)
Since the Firestone lifetime alignment deal costs about as much as one pair of decent tires, it's well worth it. Then you can go and get your wheels aligned every time you do anything.
