ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    A shattered oil pump.

those pulleys have no rubber damper and the vibrations caused by this can shatter the oil pump gears. Leave the oem one.

The pulley is smaller, so everything will run slower. Thereby lessening the load on the crank, freeing up HP (theoretically). I've heard of people damaging the oil pump with these, but I've never seen it happen. I've known a few people with these on H22s (and I have one in my garage waiting to be installed) with no issues.

i would only trust a good name brand . i have a unorthodox and it has held up great.you also have to get a smaller belt .you gain a little power and free up some weight .

If every F22 Honda engine is internally balanced up to a given RPM, and said aluminum LW crank pulley is also balanced up to that certain RPM. Will there really be enough vibration from the accessory belts to shatter gears?

I wouldn't ever trust a cheapie pulley. I have an Unorthodox Racing pulley on my H22, and it has given me no problems for about 5 years and at least 80,000 miles. Of course, that's just my experience. Others have had oil pump issues, even with Unorthodox Racing (which is the ONLY brand I would trust for a crank pulley.)

The gain isn't really significant. You won't feel it, aside from a slightly more "revvy" feeling. If you want to risk damage to your oil pump, go for it... but only with a quality brand. But honestly, there are other mods that present much less risk (and often greater gains) that could be done first.

I've heard of people having oil pump failure with UR even... my own personal experience has been positive, though.

all it really does is decrease rotating mass. You can accomplish the same thing with a light weight flywheel. You won't notice nearly as much difference from crank pulley as you will a flywheel. I love my ACT flywheel, it revs quickly and probably benefits me more than a pulley. You'd be better off running a light flywheel and underdrive pulleys on your p/s and alternator. Unless you wanna do major car stereo stuff, but on the otherhand, I had a rather high power system in my car and had minor issues with the underdrive pulley after adding two 1 farad capacitors. Keep in mind though, putting a stereo system in that adds weight nearly defeats the purpose of bolt on engine mods...

The crank pulley IS the most effective pulley to replace, though. It's minimal, but the crank pulley will free up more power than all accessory pullies combined.

so you got a big system . so you really don't worry about weight .do some mild exhaust work , header , 2.25 piping and a good muffler . this should be a start without spending too much.
