ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Look on ebay for the energy suspension, or check at your local auto parts store

You'll get bushings alot cheaper offline than at a parts store. Please use capitalization, spaces and periods correctly. It makes it very difficult to decipher when you don't.

You'll want the energy suspension front control arm & strut rod set(s). You'll have to buy the front ES shock mounts separate because they don't come in any kit.

For the rear you want the Prothane rear control arm bushing set and the Moog rear shock mounts. The rear upper control arms are cheaper to buy whole new units with ball joints, TASauto or hondapartsdeals.

I recommend you also replace you front lower ball joints with ONLY oem parts. If they aren't already wearing, new suspension bushings will surely make them begin to wear soon. Since you are lowering the car you'll want a front camber kit. I recommend front upper adjustable ball joints by SPC but you can also buy the adjustable anchor bolt kits. IMO may as well replace those upper ball joints and get adjust-ability at the same time. Summitracing is a great source for most of these bushings/ball joints.

I'm glad you're doing it right with replacing the bushings first. Don't put off getting an alignment immediately after. Keep us posted, post pics.

I would really rather not have one more moron riding around on cut springs... there are enough already. It's a bad idea. Don't ever suggest it, even in jest. Cheap-ass idiots won't see the danger, or the fact that you say it's a bad idea... they'll just see "oooh, a cheap method that I never thought of before!"

Bushings: Energy Suspension or Prothane (if those are still made.) Buy them online. A "master kit" usually runs about $100.

Shocks: Koni STR.T (orange) if your budget is limited, and you don't drive your car hard. Koni Sport (yellow) if you want shocks that will really perform. The Yellows are adjustable, but more than twice as much as the STR.Ts.
Unless you're going to get crazy with custom valving and such with the REALLY good brands, such as Bilstein, Penske, Ohlins, etc... then Koni is all you need. If you're going to lower your car, I wouldn't trust any other affordable brand (such as KYB and Tokico... not bad companies, but they can't compare to Koni for performance and safety, and their prices aren't much better). Any parts-store garbage like Gabriel or Monroe... stay away.

Coilovers... if you're talking about adjustable sleeves, the ONLY brand I would ever trust my own life with (and that's exactly what you're doing with your suspension mods...) is Ground Control. You can get a custom spring rate from them as well, so you can get EXACTLY what you need. If you don't know enough about that sort of thing, now would be a great time to learn... BEFORE you buy.

Don't forget about camber correction, alignment, and good tires.
