ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Clutch\Transmission problem

Just this afternoon while driving home, my Accord started making some strange rhythmic popping noises that seem to be coming from the passenger side.I just did a timing belt job, I drove the car Monday night 15 miles then to work and back on Tuesday round trip of 25 miles no problems and no noises.
I first noticed the noise then it got louder, I pulled over raised the hood and I reved the motor, no popping noise. I got going again and noticed that when I accelerated while shifting gear or while driving under load no noise at all! When I let off the gas it began popping, get on the gas it stopped. When I put the clutch down and held it...it was popping, let the clutch out and accelerate again no noise.
I was wondering clutch or throwout bearing? It has had I believe a noisy throwout bearing since I bought it back a few months ago. When at idle out of gear you could hear what sounds like a bearing spinning but press the clutch in and it would stop. Thanks for reading

Do you know how many miles are on that clutch since you're not the first owner?

No I sure don't, the car has 288531 as of today. I received a whole bunch of receipts from the second owner but no mention of a clutch.

Thanks for the input, I'm going to tear into it tonight. one local Honda guy said it sounds like maybe a differential but he confirmed it IS coming from the passenger side. It started suddenly, I took the car home and parked it. He also suggested maybe an Axel? I changed the tranny fluid a month ago, I used Honda manual tranny fluid when I changed it and fresh crush washers however about 4-41/2 quarts came out. I put back 2+ quarts back in.

            update Saturday morning:
The Honda guy I talked to said "if you can reach into the differential and move the splined output up and down then the differential was bad" I can move it +/- 1/8 inch from center.

I pulled the drain plug and got aluminum bits from the tranny, some big pieces. Shavings about 1/8 In. long and a lot of fine aluminum.
