ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Careful, buying and selling is not allowed in the beginner sections. Might want to edit your post and read the rules again. Just FYI.

As for the short shifter, all i know of that's on the market right now are adapters, such as OBX...
I've been looking for a true short-shifter as well but haven't found any..at least from a reputable dealer. Im thinking about welding one up of my own design.

Not that I know of at the moment. I see them time to time on our classified section. Do you know what you need to do to enter the classified section?

all you do is cut it and re-weld it?

if you want a short one then yea cut off a inch or inch and a half off the middle of the shifter.

if you want then throw to be shorter then you gotta make a bracket

well thanks for the info i am going to try and make a braket for it i looked at pic of the 4bidden one and alot of people like that one so i will tru to copy his braket cause thats what shortens the throw is the higher cable position i just wont have as heavy of a shifter but i will still keep looking for a used one

                          Read the damn rules.

All a short shifter does is relocate the cable mounting point. A $2 Home Depot bracket will do the same thing as a $200 "real" short shifter.

The Yeamans shifer was simply a copy of the Fushigi shifter... both of which were nothing more than a stock shifter with a new mounting point welded on. Nothing fancy. Nothing "real" about it. Just the same as an adapter, only welded on instead of bolted. Whoopdeedoo.

Short shifters USUALLY result in notchy shifter operation, which actually makes it take longer to shift gears, and could result in damage to the transmission. I even over-revved my engine due to an inaccurate shift thanks to my short shifter. I put it back to stock, and couldn't be happier.
