Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

ICU (Integrated Control Unit) question

    ICU (Integrated Control Unit) question

    OK. I already searched and found no definitive answers. Does anyone know how to remove the ICU from the under-dash fuse box? I think you just pull on it but the Helms doesn't explain. It just says pull the plug, then remove the ICU.

    I already tried pulling on it with a lot of force and it didn't budge. I don't want to break it if there's something else I should be doing instead. Any EXPERIENCE out there???

      I got it out. I suspected it was shorted inside. It started with my rear defroster not working on the first frosty morning this season. Then I noticed the dome light, courtesy lights, ignition key light, trunk light, chime, and who knows what else, all didn't work anymore. Naturally I checked the fuses and under-hood fuse 22 15A was blown. Replaced that and instantly blew again as soon as I replaced it. I read on here somewhere that the ICU was first to check, then bust out the meter.

      Well, I opened it up and found nothing abnormal inside, but even more telling is the fact that, even with it removed, there is still a short because my meter shows 12V on one side, ground on the other.

        This just started to happen to my cb, rear defrost clicks on/off and my dome light stopped working,and sometimes i leave my lights on

          have you checked the ground points?the same thing happened to me and it turns out to be the G01 & G02 not properly secured..

            Nope. Haven't checked that yet. It' seems to be the power side of the circuit is grounded I only get to it once in a while. Right now i have a bad brake booster I can't get off the car for some reason it's too big to just pop right out so the electrical is secondary at the moment
