Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

So you are saying you bought a header off of eBay and the o2 sensor bung is not where you need it to be? Most of those knock off headers should have a spot in both places to fit a sensor, one before the flex pipe and one in the header. Only one is used at a time so a bolt should be threaded already in the other hole. If the header you have does not have a second hole but there is one down by the flex pipe, your best option is to buy a new one that is not a Bosch but tell them you want the o2 sensor from the f22a4. The reason why is that sensor has a longer electrical line. You don't want to extend the wire of your original sensor because a) it's probably old b) you might screw it up.

You'll find the F22A4 in a 91 EX i think. If he pulls up a diagram in the computer, tell him it's the o2 sensor that goes after the flex pipe.
If all else fails, just ask for the one with the longer electrical wire which means he will have to pull two of them out and compare the two.
If you have a NAPA auto parts, go there because i just checked their online catalog and they carry NGK and Denso brand sensors while AZ only carries Bosch.Last edited by Leung; 11-24-2010, 07:51 PM.

Congrats, you bought a header for the wrong engine See what happens when you buy cheap shit?
You're going to have to extend the wires. Be careful in doing this, as it can change the resistance, and make your o2 sensor read incorrectly.
And yes, the ECU will be in open loop mode... basically, just fueling the car based on the program alone, rather than feedback from any sensors. You will be running VERY rich at most times. Fuel economy will suck, and you will run the risk of fouling your spark plugs, clogging your catalytic converter, fouling the o2 sensor (if it's plugged in... as it should be, or you'll be dumping exhaust under your car, and into the cabin...) and potentially even burning your valves.
Can you drive it without one for a short time? Yes. Is it a good idea? Not at all.

Trust me i know! I talked to the guy alot before i bought it and asked him afew times if it had the o2 sensor on the header and he said yes and before the flexpipe with will be bolted shut. And it came in and only has the hole near the flexpipe not on the header. I was short on money because of the x-max coming up. But so i cant use the o2 that has a longer wire your saying pretty much????

Actually... you need the o2 on the upper half, and you have the o2 bung on the lower half, correct?
If that's the case, you could just use the old o2 sensor with the extra wire tied up and tucked out of the way... If I'm understanding what you're saying.
I wish there were more quality options for headers. DC Sports is overpriced due to the CARB exemtion status. Bisimoto is for hardcore enthusiasts (a true work of art, but worth more than most CB7s on the road today!). OBX and Megan Racing are the best budget headers out there! Of course, there are such cheap deals to be had now...
