Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    headlight issue

On my 90 accord the driver side headlight low beam went out on the way home, it was replaced and still doesn't come on. I have tried most everything including replacing the rest of the bulbs in the headlight. I also tried checking with a light tester to make sure current was flowing it didn't light. I have checked the fuses which none are blown.

Only thing I can think of is the lighting relay. After spending alot of time i decided to take a break and drove home. I noticed that the dash high beam light indicator was lit lowly, tried the different lighting positions. On normal the high beam light is lowly lit, when lights off the light is off and when on high it shows as high beam is on. which has me thinking that there is a short or something somewhere at this point.. any ideas..

If there was a short circuit, it would likely blow a fuse. Sounds more like an open circuit. If you don't have a wiring diagram, get one. I think even a Chilton's or Haynes manual will have enough of a wiring diagram for the lights. You will have to trace the wiring back from the headlight socket to determine where the open (broken wire?) or faulty component (relay?) is.

latest update.. I have checked the groundings for the lighting cleaned the terminals and replaced all the relays. when the switch is turned to normal the low and high beam dirver side come lowly. when switching to high beam both driver side low and high beam go out and passenger side works normally in both positions.. light control switch in the car?

Aside from relays and switches, all I could suggest is tracing the wire to see if it is damaged anywhere. The sheathing on our wires is old, and brittle with age and exposure to heat. It's not impossible for it to have cracked, exposing the wire.

it acts the same with every low beam bulb.. i think i will pull out more stuff in that area and re do the ground wire.. odd thing is that the wiring diagram shows both driver and passenger use the same grounding point. unless its wrong.

i just had this on my cb it was the fuse in the fuse box in the hood. I look in the Manual and trased it back to the light fuse that was blown. chck under the hood fuse...

I was able to finally fix the issue after going to the junk yard and getting a set of OEM headlights. I thought I had identified a break in the wire going to the high beam and respliced it. While I was in the process of removing the head lights I looked into the problem projector and noticed a spot on the positive wire in the headlamp that was missing about 1/4 inch of covering and was touching the metal used for grounding. Got it all patched, replaced the passenger high beam light fuse( I was doing alot of experimenting) and its all working again. I still have to change the control switch in the car the one from the junk yard doesn't work for the hight beams.

Thanks for all the help.. this thing has drove me crazy .. another well learned experience
