ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    MAP sensor issues

ok so im having some trouble solving a problem on my cb. my check engine light is on. code 3. (MAP sensor.)
i have replaced the sensor multiple times with junkyard finds. nothing seems to work. i notice the wires were taped. found the wires were cut but all have been solderd back together. still nothing. is it possible that i have an underlying issue like a bad o2 sensor or something thats causeing the map sensor to act up? i know the wiring under dash around my ecu is sorta cut up from being a turbo vtec swaped car but i didnt think this would cause issues with my map sensor. i guess thats my next step unless someone else has another idea. thanks in advanced!!

You need to ensure your ECU has an uninterupted connection with the MAP sensor. Had I found tape on the MAP sensor wires and a wiring mess around the ECU, I would have started there.

Pull the ECU connectors and use your multimeter to make your checks, repair wiring as needed.

ecu is correct right? like james, said...check your voltage signal at the ecu. a dirty ground would offset the signal as well and it being a MAP based car, it wouldnt like it very much.,

ok i think im gonna start with the ecu wiring. what makes it a mess is that it was originally an auto. that was vtec swapped then turboed. which got blown up (so i have one hell of a mess for wiring) and now i put an f22a4 with a f22a6 dble spaced manifold on. im also running the a6 ecu. so im wondering if i need the matching map sensor for the a6 ecu.
