ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Reliable F22 Turbo

Hello, Whats the best way to have a Mildly Built F22A1 with a Turbo set up and not have to worry about Blowing anything? Hah.

What work would need to be done
and how much do you think it would cost?

Whats The Best Route To Go?

    Definition of the word mild

That all depends on your horse power goals. Most of us here have seen enough builds to know that one person's definition of mild is completely different then anothers.

Most of us can also give you a fairly complete modification list for a build depending on the desired horsepower / torque, driviablility, reliability and budget we are talking about.

Without numbers it is impossible to answer you question.

I will also add that if you are posting a question like this you are quite a long ways away having the knowledge you should have before embarking on this build.

How much power, what components you choose to use, how well you tune the ECU, how you drive your car, the condition of any old parts on the engine that remain un-replaced in the build... ALL of those things factor in.

When you put a turbo on an engine that was not designed for it, you are automatically increasing the risk of engine damage considerably. There's just no way around that.

I suggest reading everything you can. Read this forum. Read turbo forums. Read books, like Honda/Acura Engine Performance by Mike Kojima, and Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Understand your engine inside and out, understand turbo inside and out, and if you can't quite grasp the ECU tuning part of it, find someone you trust that does understand that! Don't buy a single turbo part until you understand exactly what you're doing. That's the ONLY way to ensure the best chance of your engine's survival with turbo.

All depends on what mild is for you, but you could use dsm turbo components that are in decent condition for a low boost build and definitely purchase ARP headstuds, if you don't run too much boost this will be a pretty reliable build without having to upgrade any internals.

Your question can be answered by browsing the "turbo sub-forum" and PM those that have proven builds in your budget realistic range and significant mileage accumulated.
