ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Coolant leak

Well first off I am happy to see the site back and to be apart of this community! Well I will be honest I am a sum what of a n00b when its comes to honda's but I could not pass this deal up. Just last week I bought a 93' 10th Anniversary for $200. I told the lady it was the head. Well all it was at the time was a $10 heater hose. I guess karma is a bitch as they say, because I changed the hose that under the distributor and heads toward the firewall.

But as I came into the garage this morning I found a big puddle under the car, it looks to really be the head or sumthing on the driverside back of the block. Ive been working as a tool bitch as I would say at a chrysler stealership from when I was 16 untill back in july so I got grip on automotive know-how but to be honest im clueless when it does come to this car.

So the question I guess I would ask is that should I change the head gasket? or as I seen in other post look for other possible spots from where it could be leaking?

Thanks in advance for any help!

i think you answer your own question bro, look for some spots it might be leaking and if nothing found change the gasket.

I guess your right man, but I guess now Id ask does anybody have a pic of this coolant hose that runs behind the block? and how easy is it to access it?

But late last night before I threw in the towel so to speak, I pumped the upper rad hose and it did seem to drip more when I did so from the driverside in the back of the block, but I just couldnt seem to see where from tho...

Please make your thread titles descriptive. This forum is intended to be a searchable database of information, not your own personal helpdesk. You will get more help, and you will provide an additional resource for others with the same problem, if your title says more than "help me!"

To find your leak, clean the engine thoroughly. Let it dry. Start the car. Let it get to operating temperature (be careful not to let it overheat). Look for the wet spot. There's your leak.
Same concept as finding a fat girl's snatch by using a bag of flour.

You can save yourself the trouble of working on a hot engine and hoses if you have a way to introduce a little pressure into the system. If you have something like a small hand vacuum pump (vacuum brake bleeder), you can use the discharge of that hooked up to the open bleeder on top of the thermostat housing to pressurize the system when cold. When you find the leak, you can work on it right away instead of having to wait for it to cool down.

Unless the leak is related to a blockage in the system, although I guess pressure would eventually uncover that as well.

Would you like to clarify the meaning of this? Or should I simply assume that you are attacking the OP and ban you?

Ah, ok. I had forgotten the mention of karma in the first post... usually when someone says something like that, it's because they were wronged in some way, and feel the need to e-thug about it throughout the board!
Thanks for pointing it out. You saved this guy from getting banned.
Though I deleted his post, because it was useless post-whoring, and offered nothing useful to the thread.

Driver's side, back of block is where the weep hole for the waterpump is located. Headgaskets rarely puke coolant outside the engine. If the OP is uncertain of being able to locate the leak, any auto shop will be able to pressure test the system for a very minimal cost, and the results will be better than what can only be hypothesized here.

If flour is needed, somebody doesn't know what they're looking for.

Nope. But I've read up on the flour theory extensively. Who knows when beer goggles might be a little TOO effective! Although if one is THAT drunk... you don't necessarily need to find the right spot anyway.

True, it might be easier to find a coolant leak at that point!
