Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    H22 rough idle

    Ok , so i was driving home from school ( about 15 miles) and right before i pulled into my driveway my car started to rev very oddly. it would bounce up and down and i limped my way into my driveway. can any 1 tell me whats wrong?

    Revs up and down, up and down constantly?

    Sounds like either the IAC Valve (Idle air control) or the idle air screw backed out. The idle air screw is on the throttle body near the vacuum ports, it's usually a large flat headed screw, just put your finger over the head/hole to see if the revving goes away. Basically that is just covering up the vacuum leak if it backed out too far. If not that search for cleaning method of the IAC valve.

      i just went out to check it. when i started the car it didnt do the rough idle and it idle'd just fine for 5 mins. could it be engine was overheating? my engine temp guage wasnt even 1/2 way

        check your coolant level first and see if its low. You could have air in the system.

        Next, if thats ok, then take a screw driver and hit the IAC valve when the car is on and note if the idle changes...if it does, then its probably that IAC valve thats going bad. But you can try and clean it first if that does anything, take some Carb cleaner and spray the shit outta it until the runoff is clear.

            have you done a proper tune up lately ? and all other advise needs checking too man.god bless and good luck man.
