Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    92 auto lx ecu ?

    ive been searching the boards and i "need" to replace my ecu inorder to have my ac work again.... i know my current ecu is a pt3 but i want to run the pt6 but i dont know if it makes a diff auto/5sp... ive found both for sale... but the one out of the auto is more expensive

    1) your ECU has nothing to do with your AC.

    2) Unless you have at the very least the F22A6 intake manifold and camshaft, the PT6 won't do a thing for you.

      not to sound like an ass but:
      1) the ac is controlled by the ecu.... the ecu is what causes the relay to turn on and off. (can be found in mitchell 5 also, thats why there are pressure switches/sensors on the high and low side lines)

      2) that response still does not clarify if the ecu is 5sp or auto specific

      but im planning on running the a6 cam, the h23a im, a aftermarket header.

        I apologize, I had just woken up and responded to a batch of stupid questions... I answered before I thought!

        Some people have had no problems running a manual ECU in an auto, and vice versa... others have experienced problems. My advice would be to get the auto one to ensure it works, as it would be a waste of money to get the manual one and have no luck.
        I have yet to come across anyone that has concrete knowledge on the subject, and the individual experiences seem to be conflicting.
