Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Oil on my spark plugs???? I'm thinking the valve seals???

    Oil on my spark plugs???? I'm thinking the valve seals???

    Just did a tune up 1,532 miles ago car has 266.000 miles on cluster i replaced valve cover gasket and seals on valve cover and replaced oil filter... I have been noticing oil spots!!

    Lower tube seals are most likely. There should be a few DIY threads in the DIY section that will tell you how to change them.

      I just replaced my lower tube seals.

      I got the FelPro gasket kit that came with the valve cover gasket and seals and the lower tube seals as well. If your gaskets didn't come with that I'm sure you can get them separately.

      You have to remove the valve cover and then the rocker assembly - it's not a hard job. You'll know if your old seals are shot if they are hard and brittle or cracked.

      While you are in there it would be a good time to check your valve clearances if you didn't do it during your last tune up.

        If you do the lower tube seals, all the valve adjusting screws should be backed off before loosening the rocker bolts. Not backing them off can result in the rocker assembly not seating correctly when it is reinstalled and torqued. This would then require that all the valve clearances be reset.

          Thanks for the help guys really apreciate it... I'ma work on getting this oil leak fixed first thing in the morning I will post some pics if I get the chance
