ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Tranny issues..please help

    1992 Honda Accord LX . 5 speed 2.2 L SOHC
Yesterday my other half decided to peel out at a redlight.. said that when was trying to get into next gear went to 2 by accident.
Well a few hundred feet down road the transmission wouldnt go into gear and made a clicking noise. car cooled of and then when drove home it wld go into gear and wasnt making the clicking noise. Did notice that it was "slipping" after was already in gear. got home and turned off car. Tried to play with it going between gears while car off...wouldnt go into any gear with clutch depressed.
Finally after a few minutes and playing with it went into all gears ok.

this morning drove car and same "slipping" after already in gears. Then roughly 10 miles down the road transmission must have went all the way out b.c will not drive at all.

Would that be the transmission itself or just the clutch?
I talked to ASE certified and explained and they said clutch.. two other people are thinking whole tranny.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

Slipping would be the clutch, unless you have stripped gears.

Difficulty getting into gear is often a synchronizer issue, which is internal... but could also be related to the clutch.

It seems that the clutch is definitely shot, so replace that and see if it fixes anything. If it's still hard to shift, then replace the tranny. At least you'll still have a brand new clutch to go with it!

My advice, get an Exedy clutch that is proper for your power output. Too many people want to "upgrade" the clutch and end up getting some garbage "performance" clutch from ebay that will grenade itself in 20,000 miles.

yes, he bought it.. and he is replacing it too.. it was the clutch. It was literally in tons of pieces. And it seems that the clutch was already in need of repair. One side of the clutch pad was metal to metal! got a new flywheel and clutch and its almost all back together!! YAY!!

Wouldn't second be the next gear if he peeled out from the light?

Glad to hear it was only the clutch though!
