ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I swapped to E85 Should i have it tuned?

I have 880cc injectors on my almost stock motor, should i have it dyno tuned or just eliminate the cat?

    #2
Yes, to get the most out of your setup. A dyno tune would be best. What program did you use to run those 880's?

I hope you did more then just injectors

I ran e85 in my cb7 and the fuel pump started to die. Im not sure if it was just concidence or if it was because of the e85 though.

Well i have not put them in yet, what i probably should have said is if i swapped to 880cc for E85, i have the injectors and i want to put them in, maybe you could give me the correct procedures for that?

Aren't you suppose to replace all of the rubber fuel lines also? i thought e85 eats rubber?

Some people use the same lines. It wouldn't hurt to use new fuel lines for longevity though. Especially, if the factory lines are old and worn. With E85, you have to increase fuel delivery about 30% over what's necessary for gasoline. If you are keeping your car near stock, you will use more E85 than you would gasoline. Pump gas is more than capable if that is your goal. It's not really worth the effort unless you just really want to run E85 or plan to make a lot more power than stock. If you are planning on going turbo, it will be more beneficial but, still not necessary unless you plan to make some major power like 400hp +. At that point, those 880's will be too small.

As far as tuning goes, you will have to talk with someone who can tune and you will have to get an ecu capable of being tuned. There's a lot more information on the net about converting to E85.

^ What kind of calculation did you do to determine that 880's are too small for 400hp? Just a guess? FYI 880cc injectors are sufficient for 400hp.

              to the OP,
Your car will not start if you put 880cc injectors on it. Period.
What is the point in switching to E85 and 880s? By the time you buy engine management and have the car tuned properly you are looking at roughly $1000 at the very least just to get it running.

why the hell you wanna put e85 and 880cc injectors on a COMPLETELY STOCK motor? i would understand if you was boosted but FYI you need a chipped ecu and crome to control/tune the injectors.

My car is not completely stock, i do have plans on boosting it, and building the head, i was not thinkin 400 more like 300. I already walk all over vtec motors my car beats stock si's, but i dont know much about e85 i have 2 buddys who are running it 1 has a 450 eg hatch but the other has a stock si and just put in 1000cc injectors on a more stock motor than mine it just made it run richer so he had it tuned with a chipped p28 and he made 23hp from the e85.
