ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Junk. Read their description of what it does.

We have developed a system that is able to intercept and reconfigure the signals transmitted to the ECU. This enables us to essentially reprogram your ECU to attain maximum efficiency meaning better gas mileage and more power to the ground. The chip is able to work dynamically with the ECU meaning it will compensate for the current load your engine is under:

•When you are full throttle your engine load is increased dramatically over normal freeway cruising, so the chip tells the ECU to compensate for the larger volume of incoming air by injecting more fuel into your engine and advancing the timing, giving you increased overall horsepower
•When you are cruising on the freeway or in the city the load on the engine and incoming air is little so the chip tells the ECU to use less fuel in order to achieve maximum fuel economy

Uh... Isn't that the whole point of the ECU?

Save the money, get a tune up and an oil change. More benefit and a better use of your money and time.

No random "chip" is going to give you power.

I hate these companies that prey on the ignorance of kids looking for cheap power. You'd be lucky if it did nothing at all... but it's more likely to do damage than not.

You can get your actually ecu chiped, basemaped, launch control etc for cheaper than 70bux lol (those ebay bs well there BS at best). And then all a base map is for is to hold you out until you get a real tune.Try youvebeenhadtunning.Good guy,and does very good tunes but for the chipping you would have to tell him what your set up consist of ship the ecu to him and i think he will chip it etc for 40 or 60bux.

I should add that this is ONLY necessary if you do extensive mods, such as camshaft swaps.

yes very much so all though some still want the ecu chipped its self for the launch control and check engine light shift light which i can see.But yes no need to tune for I/H/E really unless you want to which ive seen some good tuners turn out some good numbers on basic bolt on cars.RLZ,DG perfomance and a few others.

Not really a waste to get an actual basemap or chip,2step etc just if it helps performance at all it will be very minimal, but has cool festures. And the ebay bs yea its most def a waste of time!

A chipped ECU wouldn't do much on a near stock engine. Especially an F22A (the H22A's stock ECU runs pretty rich, so some power and fuel economy can be had by a good tune, though not much power... I have that done myself.)

A basemap isn't really good for "holding out until you get a real tune". A basemap is ONLY intended to get the car running well enough to tune it.

Put it this way... a good tune is your exact address. A basemap is your town. You don't want to throw a party and just invite people to your town... you want them to have your exact address, or your party is going to suck. Same thing with an ECU tune... if you just drive on a basemap, it's going to suck (and eventually cause damage.)

A basemap is the entire reason why I got my ECU tuned when I did. MRX, one of our moderators, flew from FL to Philly to tune the ECU of another member here (who was boosted.) The member he flew up to tune decided to try racing someone while running only on a basemap... and he blew his engine. Thanks to his misfortune, MRX was in my neck of the woods with one less car to tune!

Yes sir. I don't remember the sig, for some reason!
But yeah, that's what he got to replace the CB when it blew up. He was working in the mortgage industry, making a killing at like 20 years old or something... he could afford to have fun with his cars! (lucky bastard!)

Ok...So I can get my ECU tuned den the basemap??...I don't think I'm understanding where your coming from...What's best for a stock engine??...Maybe if you answer this question I'll better understand what your saying...Or if you can bring it down to retard terms...I'll be able to understand what your saying...
