ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Circle track ideas- F22 or H23

The local dirt track runs a hornet class every week with a pretty good turn out. 4 cylinder, FWD, NA, no vtec. They are not super hard on tech but the engine has to be original to the car. The two main choices I see are a CB7 with an F22a6 or a prelude with a H23 non vetec. I would prefer the accord because they are easier to find but am not sure about how well the 95 mm stroke will handle turning close to 7000 every night. I know the H crank is the same stroke but is it any different as far as strength goes? Ive raced small block chevy for 13 years now and know that the long stroke motors are usually limited in rpm by the bottom end unless you spend big money to upgrade the crank and rods.

I have had my 90 accord out on the track during the week and with 215/60/15s, second gear 6000 rpm at the corner entrance and figure under racing conditions(with a cage and harness) it would probably be closer to 6500 or 6700. Am I worrying over nothing or will one motor handle it better than the other? Thanks

id honestly be worried more about the transmission than the engine. the stock f22's are very bullet proof. you can make them flow pretty well with a good valve job and run the f22a4 header.

i like the long gearing so you arent spinning so much in the dirt. the f22's like to breathe so straight pipe them which im assuming you already did.

I havent done anything yet. Currently Im running a 78 cutlass with a 450HP 360 in it. The class used to have 30+ cars a night. This year I missed 9 nights of racing and made 10th in points and almost got 9th. Average turnout was 8 cars a night. Rumor is the class is getting dropped next year and Im looking for options that dont have me driving 1 1/2 hours one way to race.

The part about head flow Is a little depressing. From some of the flow sheets I have seen on here a stock f22a1 head flows better than the cammelbacks on mine that were professionally ported. Honda definatley has their stuff together.

yea only the exhaust needs to be opened up but only necessary for a upgraded cam.

i used to pit for the wingless sprint 360 class. fun stuff and really long nights.
