Just like the title says. Is it possible to use p5m ECU (manual tranny) with my 98 h22a4 obd ii. The ECU came with that engine. How hard would it be to plug it in? Do I need any conversion kits of some sort? Thanks a lot.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

P5m Ecu?

The P28 can be modified to be tunable, whereas the P13 cannot. You do not need a P28 at this time.
If this image works, it should show you the difference between ECU plus. My computer is having issues, and I'm only able to view the small version on Google, which wasn't very clear. I believe this is the one that shows what you need to know, though.

You will essentially need to convert your H22A4 into an OBD1 engine... basically, that involves replacing the distributor and fuel injectors with parts from an H22A1 (well, an OBD1 H22A... the JDM H22A parts would also work fine.)
But yes, the P13 is the only ECU you should be looking at. There's no need to run anything tunable until you have mods that require tuning, and you understand what is involved in that process.

my f22 distributor wont work is that correct? H22a1 is 92-96 prelude? i guess its time for me to have an adventure trip to the scrap yard
- Distributor
- 4 fuel injectors OBD1
- P13 (and i will not have to cut any cables, just plug right in?)
- No knock sensor?
Any advice for good quality fuel injectors?
thanks a lot.

Yes, H22A1 is the OBD1 H22A (92-95)
You will need a knock sensor, yes. I forgot to say that in the last post. All H series engines require a knock sensor.
As for the fuel injectors... it's hard to say. Visually inspecting them for damage is about all you can do. It'd be smart to send them off to get cleaned (and balanced, if you really want to do it right...) but not absolutely necessary. I've never done that myself. Then again, I never had to buy injectors.

Will this work for my knock sensor? http://cgi.ebay.ca/Honda-Knock-Senso...ht_1843wt_1137
how come H's don't have a knock sensor already installed?

It will plug right in, yes. You will need to add 4 wires for the H22. That SHOULD be covered pretty well in the Swaps section of this forum. I don't know them offhand (I paid to have my swap done back in 2003... the shop did a lousy job, but their wiring was the one thing I haven't had to redo yet... aside from taping exposed connections!)
