ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Is my axle bad? ( video )

The joint at transmission side is not really bolted (it supposed to slide in and out of the cup component).
However the outside joint which is at the tyre side from my memory and knowledge should not have any play.
I believe your axles are worn and should be replaced.
Check the spline and large nut at the end (at the wheel side) is on properly and tight to specs.
If the axle is secured properly then i would say you have developed looseness with the outer bearing. There is no fix for it other than to get a reconditioned axle at a retail parts store or one from the JY (which may or may not be reconditioned).Rides:

At least it happened close to civilisation (i assume).
I would hate something major like this to happen on a long drive somewhere far, at night or inclimate weather.Rides:

Yeah it happend within a 5 minute walking distance from school, i've actually had my old accord fail with all of those circumstances
at night
in the middle of no where
on the wrong side of the road
around a blind curve
That was so scary.

Not a guarantee but i always make a note to carry at least some basic stuff with me on board:
torch - for night time,
duct tape - for quick fixes (in accident or vandalism),
rope - for holding things together (as per ductape),
plastic bag - for dirty stuff
knife - to cut the tape and rope
.... man this sounds like a serial killers list of basic tools....Lol and
basic tools incl. reflectors, jump leads, foot pump and tow rope - for when my friend or family's car comes they can tow me
At least it gives you some hope your not totally helpless and a chance to restart, move the car to a safer spot or at the very least the triangle reflectors and blinking torch will alert on coming traffic till assistance arrives (if stuck in a dangerous spot like blind spot or fast moving traffic).
Tip:
If you can i would have an alternator, starter and distributor at home. They can be easily picked up by a family member or you and the job can then done on the spot (enabling the car to be driven home).Last edited by JDMDriver; 09-28-2010, 02:57 AM.Rides:
