ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Need a new muffler to replace can of beeeeeeeees

The muffler that came with my car when I bought it sounds like millions of bees in a can with a mic amplifying their sound to 11.

I hate it, and I want something that sounds good, but not annoying at all. I was curious if anyone has experience with this muffler, and if you would recommend it. It seems like a good price but wanted to see if anyone had input on it.

If you want your exhaust to sound good without upgrading the whole thing, just go with a stock muffler. There is not really a performance enhancement with a muffler.

If you want it to sound good AND have a noticeable gain in performance, just go to a exhaust shop and have them make you a 2.5 inch exhaust, or what have you, then put a flow master or equivalent muffler on it that is the same size as your exhaust. You'll have a nice muffled sound down low, but when you open it up, you get the growl and loudness that some people crave.

I’m pretty sure the muffler you posted will sound pretty close to stock, it looks like a replacement for a stock ex.

And don't forget the intake! That makes alot of the sound you hear in the cabin.

If you buy a new oem muffler (sure its a little dear) however your sure it will last at least another 10 and even up to 15 years!

In all that time it will sound beautiful, like an unmolested, classy and prestigious vehicle (which the CB7 is).

On top of that your quality stereo sound will not be tainted by any droning and raspy sounds.

A good condition oem from the JY is sure to still last you at least a few years if not more.

not here in the Northeast!!! OEM exhaust pieces for the cb7 last about 3-4 years before they are rotted out..... i upgraded to a stainless system in hopes that it will last 5 before it rusts...

I would check to make sure all your exhaust components are still on your car, because if they put that muffler on, they might have removed the silencer, and/or replaced the cat with a test-pipe. All things that would cause your exhaust to sound like crap.

On the plus side, with your current exhaust, if the cops ever stop you, just pull a Tommy Boy... Yell "bee's, they are all over me!" as you run into the field frantically.
