ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

First thing to do is check the coolant level (when cool). If it is low, make sure when you fill it up that you open the bleed fitting on top of the thermstat housing until bubbles stop. How old is the thermostat? Water pump? Check the overflow tank for bubble while the engine is idling? Does the overflow tank keep filling up? Have somone powerbrake it a little, do the bubble increase? If so, you've got a head gasket leak. Any oil in the coolant? Any water in the oil (it will look like chocolate milk)?

Fuckin balls. So the car has been overheating for a couple years now. Usually at idle. The fans work, so many moons ago, after seeing some residual coolant on the splash guard under the radiator drain plug I thought I kinda found the problem. I tightened the ring clamp on the big coolant line and called it good.

Fast forward to yesterday - it overheated again in traffic, so I topped it off when I got back. WELL it did it again today. I pop the hood, the reservoir was bone dry yet again and I can hear hissing from thermostat and see coolant misting around the area. I found out where it was coming from:

I think the line is either no. 1 or the blow up picture B-17-30. Is that line safe to remove to check if there's a hole or not?

Tough to tell from the video, but it looks like line 1. They are all safe to take off when the engine is cold. You will lose a certain amount of coolant, probably less if you drain from the valve at the bottom of the radiator first (at least it is easier to collect here). What year? How many miles? Any idea how old the hoses are? Might be a good idea to replace them all, change the thermostat, and put fresh coolant in.

The car is a 94 but the motor stuff is probably a 95. No idea how old those hoses are. I changed the thermostat maybe 2 years ago. Wonder how much everything is...
