ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Complete A/C system install tips

Hello, as the title states I will be fully redoing my a/c system, this includes evaporator core, condenser, compressor, accumulator/drier, expansion valve, both suction and desuction hoses, all o rings, inline refrigerant filter.

(let me know if you feel as if I have forgotten anything excluding the blower)

Now I kindly ask you all for any tips you may have for me, regardless of how big or small. And i stress the word 'any'

Another thing that would help is a US version 1992 Honda Accord EX sedan service manual so that way I am knowledgeable of all torque specs.

    thanks

Did your car come with A/C already installed? But was pulled out for whatever reason?

If the car already had A/c that means that the wiring for the relays are already there.
The Fan and wiring should already be there.

With that being said, i suggest you start from the Outside -> In.
Installing the evaporator is the biggest pain in the butt.

Anyways, good luck, take lots of pics.

@rum_n_coke would you happen to have a link or know as to where I can find the diy at?

@Jack Frosstwhite The car did have A/C, I'm just replacing all the components of it

          This is an excellent DIY.

I'm going to dive into it next spring, before it gets hot.

hey there well the amount of R-134a your system nees depends on what kind of compressor you have and how much you loose to purging the lines when recharging. When i made the DIY i used 4-12oz cans which is 3lbs of R-134a. But like i mentioned before you loose some to purging the air out of the lines, so roughly about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 lbs should leave you feeling nice and cool in the cabin also i added a little more PAG oil to the system which left less room for R-134a when retrofitting because its better to have a well lubed compressor and loose a few degrees in cabin temps than to have your compressor dry run once and blow. Hope this helps , also if you have any questions feel free to PM me

                      Peace,
                      Gummiegorilla.
