ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

The best thing to do would be to get a proper manual (www.helminc.com is the best place... pricey, but you get your money's worth... far better than Haynes or Chiltons.)
I'm not familiar enough with automatics to describe exactly where it is and how to fix it, so I'll leave that to someone else. I'd probably end up confusing you, as I'd pretty much be learning it myself as I went!

The best place to get the part would be directly from Honda. Honestly, EVERYTHING related to the automatic transmission should come from Honda, fluid included.

the shift solenoid a is fairly easy to find. If you open your hood and look at your tranny you will see two metal cylinders they look like giant capacitors. there are 2 sets. the one on top is solenoid A. the one on the front of the tranny is solenoid B. Hit the junkyard and get another solenoid.

Its also not something easy to find on mechanic stores like autozone or advanced or napa. Ebay has them used also

It's fairly common. Solenoids wear out in time, and these cars are old enough to vote.

Swapping from auto to manual is easy, for the most part. The only thing you have to do extra is either weld on the transmission mount bracket from the manual car (the bracket attached to the frame that the mount bolts to), or buy a conversion mount kit from www.explicitspeedperformance.net. ESP's kits are reasonably priced, though not cheap. It's nice to have all brand new mounts, though... better than stock... and the conversion mount eliminates the need for welding, so it's much easier. If I was converting, that would be the route I would go.

The rest is all just swapping in parts. A good manual will certainly help you with that as well.

Yeah mine look rusty too but they still work. There is a way to test them . alil research will point you to that method . The difference in sport mode is it will shift at slightly higher rpm so you get more power in a sense because youre shifting higher between gears. and no harm comes with leaving sport mode on as long as fluid levels are good and tranny is well taken care of

i think the manual wants you to resistance test them.
