Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    hard to start when hot

    alright guys yet another problem that I have been dealing with lately is that my car is hard to start when its hot.

    I am getting fuel but no spark.. main relay was changed with a brand new one that I rewelded myself. had a code and it was for the dizzy and replaced dizzy, cap and rotor also.

    I have been dealing with this problem before I changed the dizzy and am leaning towards the coil being the problem but I dont want to go changing parts that arent going to do anything..

    The car does not crank at all and just stays off until the fan turns off. once the fans turn off I can start the car with no problem.

    Car is a 93 EX with a 91 F22A1 in the bay A6 harness and A6 ECU. also have A6 mani and A6 eshaust system.

    WTF is it? any help is appreciated.

    Is your car grounded corretly? Sounds as if you are not getting enough current.

      grounds were cleaned about half a month ago when I got my new battery..I am going to get new cable and change that out and see what the changes are..I hear something click the first try and then it normally starts up fine the second time..


      BTW New battery, New starter and New dizzy cap and rotor as mentioned above

        i bet its a bad starter, do this when the car does not crank put a test light on the small starter wire and see if it lights up haav a freind crank the car ,if it lights up and the engine wont crank it is a bad starter........

          forgot to mention..Brand spanking New starter..so its not the starter

            Remember, new does not always mean functioning.

            The first time I replaced a clutch master cylinder I spent two weeks bleeding the thing thinking I was not cut out to work on cars. It turned out that the brand new master cylinder didn't seal properly and it wasn't me.

            It is weired to me that it starts right after the fan circuit shuts off. That makes me think ground as well. Have you tried disconnecting the fan and starting it while its hot.

            Also does your temp gage work? I am just curious about how hot we are talking about.

              My fan has kicked on directly after I turn the car off for a couple of months now..

              and by hot I mean the car and temp gauge are working and the temp gauge shows normal operating temp, but the car feels hotter than it used to back in the day..

              I have a new starter that I got tested at 2 different places to make sure it worked and they all said it passes..it was New not rebuilt and works like a champ on cold and warm starts


              I have not tried dissconnecting the fan to start the car while the car is hot..I will try that next..

              other new/recently purchased items also include

              I have replaced all sensors dealing with temp and fan..on the thermo housing, water neck, head, and the thermo itself is new..
              fan relay and other things also..


              another problem I have is that both fans kick on when the car needs to be cooled down and not just the regular fan for cooling..my ac fan also turns on to cool the car down.

                    I tried but nothing changed..I am also looking to upgrade my wire for my battery. Looking for 0/1 gauge wire to see if that changes anything.
