ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Auto Tranny Computer Woes

I have a 93 LX wagon. A while back the D4 light began to stay on. This would put me into "limp home mode. I had 1st,3rd and reverse gears. Manually shifted of course. I had 1st gear in the 1 gear position. I had 3rd gear in 2,D3,D4 position. Reverse in R. No transmission torque converter lock-up and no down-shifting Sometimes the interlock switch under the shifter would rattle. Sometimes the transmission would revert back to normal functioning.
The TCU code for the original was 28100-PXO-A32

I got a supposed "refurbished" TCU . This unit gave the exact same functionality as the original but the interlock switch never made a sound.
    TCU code 28100-PXO-A31 M1.

Sent that one back and received another TCU. This one had no original Honda sticker but instead had a computer printed label saying 28100-PXO-A32. Who knows what unit this actually is. Anyway, this one gives me 2nd gear in gear positions 1 and 2. Also I have 4th gear in D3 and D4. reverse in R. Although it doesn't work properly the car is at least usable. In fact I love 4th gear without the TC lock-up.

In the meantime I ordered another TCU off Ebay for like $50. It was labeled 28100-PXO-A31 M1. I installed this one and whet I turned on the engine it began to smoke. Yanked it and reinstalled the one from the above paragraph.

I realize now that ANY TCU I get (unless it's new from Honda) will be a junk yard pull. Does anyone know which TCU units I can use in the wagon ? Can't seem to find complete information anywhere. Anybody know a good source for TCU's

I had the same issues with my TCU. I have a sedan. I even tried taking 1 of the TCU's I got to an electronic repair shop and have them try and repair it. Needless to say that failed as well. I finally found a place that I ordered a TCU from and it has been about a year now with no issues. I know I am building the suspence......Autocomputerexchange.com Even called them and they were great and very helpful! Good Luck!

I've been looking at the AUTOCOMPUTEREXCHANGE add on Ebay. My only problem with them is the $199 price tag for a junk yard pull. I may have to try them though. Thanks for the reference.

Np, I had called them cause I was also concerned about getting a junk yard pull but after talking with the guy there I felt allot better. I think they also give you a warranty on it to. Not sure but I thought it was for a few years, but double check and it came quick too. My cb7 is my daily driver and driving around in limp mode was killing me. When you order they send you shipping label to send back old one and give you a core fee back! They seemed legit and after my experiance with them and having no issues after install I was satisfied! Good luck!
