ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Milky Tranny Fluid

Hey wats up guys, I have a 92 Honda Prelude that is automatic and I just got done with an engine swap. I noticed when I checked my tranny dipstick, that the fluid was looking milky and white, so I drain the fluid it and it looks like chocolate milk..Im thinking its the tranny cooler thats causing this. Im hoping that I have suffered no transmission damage and Ive caught in time. Any thoughts on what it might be? Thanks in advance.

The tranny cooler would be my best guess as well. That's the only way the transmission fluid comes anywhere near coolant... unless you somehow got water in there.

Your best bet is to replace your radiator, or run an auxiliary tranny cooler, and bypass the one in the stock radiator.

The car wouldn't overheat unless coolant levels get too low.

Ok I guess Ill be getting a new radiator..I also checked the coolant and its still green so I dont see any sign of it mixing inside the cooling system.

Yeah, its an utter disappointment. I thought Ill at least make it to the Prelude meet but now thats in speculation. My biggest worry is that it fudged up the tranny and Im crossing my fingers that it didnt..Worst case scenario is Ill just get a JDM H22 tranny.

You do realize that when you "drain" the transmission using the drain bolt, that you aren't even draining out half of the transmission fluid. The majority of the fluid is still in the torque converter. You will either need to flush out transmission or just refill, drain, refill, drain, etc, until you have 100 percent transmission fluid.

Ok, so i dont have the machine to do the flushing so how would I go about doing this? Fill, start it, and drain until I see straight tranny with no discoloration and repeat if necessary??

That would be the way to do it.

Yep...sorry, wish there was an easier way short of removing the transmission. But that is actually the best way. Many people report transmission problems after getting it flushed.

Have you changed the radiator or bypassed it ?? I think it was pretty much agreed that this is where the water/coolant was coming from.
