ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I have a buddy with almost the same build as you running on a t2t4 lsd tranny in a CD chassis. He's making 200hp.

I'm running a H22 type s with a F22 gear speed built LSD tranny in a CB chassis.

From a dig, I can pull a car head of him. When he shifts into 3rd, I'm still in 2nd at 6k. He falls further back when shifting into 3rd.

But if we were in the freeway, I'm sure from a roll, he'll walk me right away with his short gears.

you will benefit from an LSD tranny.
I am assuming you know why, because you bought one.
      Throw it in man.

and to jimy, you have a friend with a boosted h22 only throwing 200hp?
very interesting, is it a very very verymild tune.
I was seeing close to 250 with the all f22 and 250k miles.

Longer gears are often better for turbo. Short gears require shifting ina shorter period of time, so the turbo has less time in boost. When you shift, you have to spool the turbo again in the next gear. The F22 gearing is actually better. Though the LSD will certainly help you put the power to the ground.

With all that work done to your engine, I would get rid of that little 14b blowtorch. Small turbos create heat, and heat destroys engines. It's one thing to blow an old F22A that's on the way out already, but you have money in yours... it'd be a bad idea to blow it up!

Sorry, I missed read that. He's all motor. Same built head minus the turbo.

But Deev is right. Longer gears helps keeps the turbo in boost longer. But its all in how the tune is done and what turbo you are using.

F22 tranny for sure. Big difference between 2nd-3rd gear.

For street performance especially... I think I'd go with the LSD over the non-LSD, even if the gears are shorter.

If the turbo isnt' installed yet, the LSD tranny will DEFINITELY be more fun with the N/A motor.

It'll be fun with the turbo, too... but depending on when the turbo reaches full spool, it could be frustrating. You'll hit max boost and then have to shift, needing to spool it up again! A good quick-spooling will compensate for that quite well, though... as will a small turbo like a 14b, but then you're looking at heat issues (and potential engine damage...)
