ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    caster shims advice

Okay, I ordered caster shims today and I wanted to know if anyon has had any experience installing them and how difficult the job is, and/or what tools I may need for the job.

No offense but if you have never used them why do you think you need them?

Was your car hit? The caster on our cars is not adjustable, and therefore should not be able to go out of spec. I've never in the 7 years this forum has been around heard of anyone using caster shims on their CB.

Most people either have the frame repaired, or they're too ignorant to even notice that something is off. That, or they just don't care.

I'm imagining the front suspension, and I can't figure where such shims would even go!

There is no reason to be arrogant.

I had never heard of "caster shims" being used on CB's. Usually people are meaning shims used for camber on the UCA's.

Well it has been off since the winter but it didn't wear my tread too bad so ive neglected to get it fixed. I work at an auto parts store and found caster alignment shims so I ordered them. I think these are to be used lile the washer trick for cheap camber adjustment. I had thought about using washers before to offset the upper control arm and give me a caster adjustmwnt but never got around to doing it. Just seeing if anyone had experience with this stuff

I have done caster adjustments on 5 or 6 cb7s, most people never want to spend the money.
2 of the cars were mine.

Is your car drifting to the right?

What's your caster readings? The shims only correct alittle bit

The caster shims are washers that go on the radius rods.

Ah, that's the one part I wasn't thinking about!

I bet my caster is adjustable, then... the radius rods on my traction bar are adjustable.

That sounds right. You've used the shims before with success? Where are the radius rods located?
