ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Funnny idle situation

I'm sure this has been answered... But Idk what it's called, so I didn't know how to search.

Anyways, when my car is on, and the pedal is not being pressed, the idle goes up a little, then I hear like it go "cluuh" and it drops a little.. then begins to rev a little more.. and repeat.

It goes from like 1000rpm to about 1350rpm then drops down to 1000 again, over and over.

    EDIT
I heard this is a vacuum leak or something? How do I fix?

sounds like a classic IACV issue. A vacuum leak is always a possiblity but it usually just stays at the high idle and not bouncing around.

    Here you go. Start reading.

You can read that or try a simple fix, most of the time it will work.

Just turn the air bypass screw to the right. Before doing so, be sure to disconnect the wire from the back of the IACV then adjust, have the car on as well. When you have it around 700rpm, plug it back in and your car should be stable.
Do I turn left when nothings right? Or do I turn right when nothings left?

YOUR IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE MAY JUST BE DIRTY OR IT MIGHT NOT WORK ANYMORE ,SOMETIMES THE COOLANT TEMPERTURE SENSOR CAN CAUSE ERRATIC IDLE UP AND DOWN UP AND DOWN ANYWAY GOOD LUCK

1000 to 1350 rpm... is this cold start? if this is at normal operating temperature then your idle is high.

here: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=146239 it also helps to indicate if there's a possible vacuum leak.

to answer your question it is probably the IACV or possibly the FITV. both could probably use a cleaning. and both procedures can be found in the DIY section.

now onto searching.... look up at the top of the wepage. now scroll down(like 2 inches)until you see a silver banner going all the way across the screen horizontally. go over to the right until you see search. click that and enter your search criteria. done....
