ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Auxilary Lighting & Fan Wiring

My car has some electrical problems that seem to be getting worse. My symptoms started with my one of my headlights not working, which then progressed to nothing but one corner, and now nothing but taillights and brake lights. I have already replaced the column mounted switch, all fuses are okay and never had a problem with them blowing. What i want to do right now is wire up a standalone lighting circuit as well as one for my radiator fan. I have one rad. fan which i had wired up previously to a switch inside the car, powered off the radio power wire. When my lighting system began failing (or failed, n the fashion in which it did), i spliced one bulb from each headlight into the power wire for the rad. fan. while the fan alone ran fine, with the addition of two headlight bulbs, my switch heated up and melted the insulation around its connectors, this may have been from my stepping down from 16 to 22 gauge going into the switch. i did that because i didnt have terminals to fit the bigger wire. Now while my fan setup was probably alright, had it not been powered off the radio power wire...adding headlight bulbs definitely isnt. I Want to run two circuits, powered directly off the battery (unless theres a better option to source power from, besides the oem wires, lol). i have great batt. terminals with enough inputs for auxilary whatevers. so, from the battery i assume i should have a step down device of some sort, transformer, relay or something, to make sure i dont over or underpower my fan/lights with the current coming str8 from the battery. i would need optimal/properly gauged wires with clean connections...clean grounds..dont need high n low beams on the lighting, i can just use the hibeam bulbs.. turning signals are another story...the ones in the back work, thats enough, i live in st. croix ppl, 84 sq. miles..looks like a . on a map. i can get away with no front turn sigs....so guys help me out...i need to know the specs on properly custom wiring up headlights and radiator fans!
Working...
