ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    car sputtering

my cb sputters when i put a little gas to it idk what the problem is? idk if its the fuel filter thats clogged or the injectors any help from you guys will me out alot thanks

    #2
what exactly do you mean sputters? will it accelerate after say 3k rpm? or is it really slow to accelerate everywhere?

could be fuel filter like you said, or egr ports need cleaning, or you need new air filter. i doubt the injectors are clogged but they could be very dirty.

I would do the cheap trouble shooting items first.

        Check/change air filter

        Check/change spark plugs

        Check/top up tranny fluid

        Switch to higher octane fuel

        Change the fuel filter

        Check timing
        Rides:

        Accord

it starts to sputter after 3k rpm and if i leave it to sputter for like 5 to 10 seconds it jus rapidly jumps back to normal. it only sputters if im goin on any constant speed

Is your check engine light on? Does it come on when you reach highway speeds?

My guess... You can drive normally, but sometimes it bogs. You can push through the dead spot, and it'll pick up again. The check engine light comes on around 50mph, and when you pull the code, it'll be code 43: fuel supply system. Most likely, this will mean that your oxygen sensor is bad.

If I am correct, replace it with NTK or Denso. No Bosch. Bosch is bad.

I'm sure it can. Anything that causes your spark to be weak could.

My car has the same bogging problem, and I'm assuming the o2 sensor is the cause... that's why I'm so familiar with this. I haven't fixed my own yet, though... mainly because clutch issues forced my car off the road before I got a chance to.

question, how do you check timin on our cars, do we use a timing light and point it at the flywheel teeth.

i remember reading, some flywheels come with the timin line, and some dont, i dont think mine does, i didnt see anything of that nature when i installed mine.

Many aftermarket wheels do not. If you didn't have a mark, or add one before you installed it, then you really can't check the timing the way Honda intended.

I've had this problem. How often does it happen? I only get this when the car gets hot. In the mornings or at nights the car runs fine. I've tried the O2 replacement already, that did no help. But it doesnt hurt to change out your spark plugs. I've heard from other people that own different cars to have found it to be a clogged cat. The cat being clogged will reduce your performance drasically.

mines happens at random really, i can start it up, drive 2 blocks, and it will bogg when im on the gas, then it will go away when its warm, then come back.

its scary, i dont want it to shut off or something.
