ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    First swap, F22a1 to F22a6

I'm swapping a stock F22a1 for an F22a6 with an h22 mp1a trans and an h23 intake manifold. Will all these thing go together?, which ECU/TCU should I have, what problems may I face? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

By the way I'm wanting to stay away from turbo's and Nos. I'd like a strong N/A motor just shy of spending my life savings on bisimoto products. I know people are doing H22 swaps by I'm intrigued by the sohc bisimoto story.

yeah they will all work fine together. you should use a po6 chipped with the trannys matching ecu

Um... that makes no sense at all.

fatrabbit, please disregard that advice... you don't need that yet... and this guy has no idea what he's talking about.

The F22A6 is identical to the F22A1 aside from the camshaft, valvesprings, ECU, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and windage tray. If there's nothing wrong with your F22A1, there's no reason to remove it. Aside from the windage tray, everything else is going to end up being aftermarket on your motor anyway. If the F22A1 is good, and you're not getting the F22A6 for free, save your money and spend it on either a Bisimoto header, or a Bisimoto camshaft.

THEN you can look into a tunable ECU. In the meantime, the F22A6's PT6 ECU is all you'd need to properly control the IAB system on the H23 manifold.

Well, I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with the car. It was good to go but got stolen and came back with a knock/rattle/two rats f@$%&* in my motor or trans, I'm having a hard time locating the noise. Noise only kicks in at about 2k and up. Thought it was the valves but checked the lash and all were good. Sounds to me that its coming from deeper in the motor, bearings perhaps? On a side note the trans has become difficult to shift in and out of park. Been driving like that for couple months now, if I'm gonna build it I'm worried about the integrity of the parts that wont be changed. Do you feel that's a legitimate fear?

Stolen= Joyride! sorry to hear that man, but it sounds like you have just reason to swap. Just like Deev said go with the pt6 ecu, the h tranny you may have to tap one of the mounting holes but it should be a pretty easy swap

Is the H23 or F22a6 the better intake manifold? I was under the impression the H23 was , was I mistaken?

the h23 plenum (top part of the manifold) is without a doubt the better piece, but there is debate over whether the f22a6 runners or h23 runners are better.

in other words, make sure you get an h23 plenum, and get one of the two runners.

The A6 springs are stiffer to accommodate the camshaft.
